Thackeray started his political career as a cartoonist for the party's mouthpiece, Marmik. His government has faced criticism for its handling of the Sushant Singh Rajput case, which involved the death of a popular Bollywood actor. Thackeray was also criticized for his handling of the Kangana Ranaut case, which involved a feud with a Bollywood actress over her comments about Mumbai and the state government.
Despite these challenges, Thackeray remains a popular leader in Maharashtra and continues to work towards the development of the state. His leadership style, which is marked by a combination of pragmatism and populism, has won him admirers across the political spectrum.
